The Bundaberg Sailing Club is situated on the banks of the beautiful Burnett River, around 20kms North-West of the city, just off the road to the Port. We are lucky to be just a short sail away from the river entrance at Burnett Heads. Our racing will be conducted off Burnett Heads, the entrance to the Burnett River.
ASBA has organised berthing for the regatta at the Bundaberg Port Marina and each boat will be allocated a berth. There will be a fee involved for each boat’s berthing.
Bundaberg Sailing club has provided self-sufficient camping on the riverbanks within the grounds and car and trailer storage. There is a boat ramp and pontoon at Bundaberg Sailing Club for launching and retrieving at the beginning and end of the regatta with the marina being a 10-minute motor down the river towards the entrance. During the regatta the ramp and pontoon at the sailing club will be reserved for the race committee boats and personnel (except in case of emergency repairs). There is also a boat ramp at the heads near the marina (Burnett Heads boat ramp).
Owners with boats traveling back from Airlie Beach Race Week are more that welcome to store their boats at the sailing club grounds (secure with caretaker on site) or they can store them at Jamie Berndt’s (ASBA Secretary) or Barry Berndt’s house in Maryborough (1.5hrs south of Bundaberg). There will be room for 5 or so boats in at each house in Maryborough with power and water available.
Bundaberg sailing club has great facilities with hot showers and toilets for competitors that camp on the grounds during the regatta. Bundaberg Sailing Club will also have meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for competitors and full bar facilities at great prices. Eftpos is available on site.
Presentation will be held at Bundaberg Sailing Club on Sunday after racing with a free sausage sizzle for everyone at presentation.
